Kia recently launched the 2023 Kia Seltos SUV in India with new updated powertrain options that comply with the upcoming BS6 Phase 2 and RDE emission regulations in the country. However, what's interesting is that the 2023 iteration of the Seltos SUV completely ditched the 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol powertrain. As a result, the 2023 Kia Seltos SUV comes with just two engine options.
That being said, the South Korean car manufacturer is reportedly testing the 2023 Kia Seltos with the new more powerful 1.5-litre, turbocharged petrol engine that is currently on duty in the 2023 Kia Carens MPV.

This new 1.5-litre, turbocharged petrol engine puts out a very respectable 157.8bhp of peak power and 253Nm of torque, which is approximately 20bhp and 11Nm more than the now discontinued 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine.
It is also worth mentioning that the 6-speed manual transmission in the 2023 Kia Carens has been replaced by a new 6-speed iMT unit. That being said, the 7-speed DCT unit is likely to remain an option without any changes in the 2023 iteration of the Seltos SUV as well. In terms of features, Kia is now offering the 12.5-inch digital instrument cluster as standard across all variants in the 2023 iteration of the Seltos SUV - A feature that was previously available from the Prestige trim.

Apart from that, other noticeable features on the 2023 Kia Seltos SUV include a large 10.25-inch infotainment with Apple Car Play and Android Auto connectivity, UVO-connected car tech, 360-degree surround-view camera, sunroof, and much more. Other than that, the 2023 Kia Seltos SUV comes with top-tier safety systems such as 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability program (ESP), vehicle stability control (VSC), brake assist systems (BAS), Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), ISOFIX Mounts, hill-hold assistance, all-wheel disc brakes and a few more.
